We are learning the process of conjugating regular -AR, -ER, and -IR verbs.

Happy Valentines Day
The students listened to a Spanish Valentines Day story and then created their own Valentines Day card which included the phrase "Te quire porque..."
Dia de los muertos
The Offering and the visit of souls. It is believed that the souls of children return to visit the first day of November, and the souls of the adults return on November 2nd. In case you can not visit the grave , either because there is the tomb of the deceased, or because the family is too far to go to visit them, they place an altar in their houses.
Calaveras de azúcar: (Sugar skulls) are skull -shaped candies, usually made of fudge, chocolate, amaranth, gumdrop, and other ingredients. They are usually sold in traditional markets called "Todos Santos“, shops, flea markets, etc.
Pan de muerto:(Dead man’s bread) Bread was added by Spanish missionaries. It is a sweet biscuit that is baked in different shapes, decorated with bone-shaped figures of the same bread.
Caléndula: (marigold) Its color is light as sunlight. Its aroma guides souls to indicate the direction of their home.
Cruz de Caléndula (Marigold cross) Each flower represents a life, and in the case of the deceased means them still retain a place in the world, and that has not been forgotten by his friends and family.
Cirios: (Twelve candles) While there may be less they need to be in pairs, preferably purple. The candles, especially if they are purple are a sign of mourning.
Retrato: (Portrait of the person remembered) The portrait of the
deceased suggests that his soul will visit the house the night of November the 2nd. This image graces the top of the altar.
Papel picado:(Confetti) Mexicans usually decorate the offerings with confetti, this is considered as a representation of the festive joy of Day of the Dead.
Agua: (Water) Water is very important because, reflects the purity of the soul. It also helps the spirit mitigate their thirst after the journey from the world of the dead.
Comida: (Food) Mexicans place the deceased favorite food for the soul to
enjoy it.
